This law is all about family affairs and it has to be respected in order to bring about justice in society. A family is a group of related people hence any sort of mistreatment that crops up in that environment has to be addressed by this law. Hence no spousal abuse or child abduction is allowed on planet earth. This law states that it’s the obligation of the parent to take care of their children and their upbringing lies in the hands of the elderly in the family.
Due to the fact that the family law is a very important aspect in the day to day life of man, its values have to be respected. The moment the family falls apart, severe consequences will come about because of the mistakes of the heads.
Amongst them we have; divorce, child custody and many more. This is why I am emphasizing the point of respecting the values of the family in order to improve the standards of living of our loved ones. In line with this we have family law suits. Look at some that have been highlighted below;
As soon as the partners have divorced, all they have to do is opt for spousal support in order to seal their breakup. All the property will have to be divided amongst the partners so that everyone takes a fair share of the spoils of the broken marriage. This is where alimony will also come in to determine which of the partners will take the biggest share.
For this matter, alimony will depend on;
-The mental ability of both partners.
-The Judiciary’s final decision.
-The length of the marriage.
-The income of both partners.
Next in line with have child support. This will involve the financial support extended to the children from the parents. The moment the divorce comes about, one of the two will have to remain with the child but still the other will extend a hand of help.
Lastly we have child custody. In this case, it will be the court to determine the partner who will remain in full control of the child after the divorce has been finalized.
